Body & Soul Yoga Teacher Training and Personal Transformation (200 hour) runs one weekend a month for nine months plus three additional days. The weekend hours are Fridays 6-9 pm; Saturdays 9-5:30pm; Sundays 8:30-3:30pm. The curriculum outline below gives an overview of topics covered during the program. WEEKEND 1: 

  • Intro to program/each other.
  • Ground Rules. Structure of Program. Practice.
  • Overview of Philosophy.

WEEKEND 2:

  • Introduction to Sutras
  • Introduction to Anatomy.
  • Principles of Movement.
  • Living Your Yoga.

WEEKEND 3:

  • Teaching individual poses: Standing Poses.
  • Overview of 8 Limbs & The Gita -1
  • Anatomy: The internal world. Lower Extremities. The Feet.

WEEKEND 4:

  • Teaching individual poses: Backbends.
  • 8 Limbs – Yamas & Niyamas & The Gita -2
  • Anatomy: The Spine.
  • Practice: Hands-on Adjustments (1)

WEEKEND 5:

  • 8 Limbs – ASANA
  • Teaching Practice: 10 minute segments.
  • Teaching individual poses: Forward Bends.
  • 8 Limbs – Pranayama & The Gita – 3
  • Anatomy: Shoulder, Arm, Wrist & Hand.
  • Ethics & Boundaries

WEEKEND 6:

  • Inversions Workshop
  • Teaching individual poses: Twists.
  • 8 Limbs – Pranayama & The Gita – 3
  • 8 Limbs – Pratyahara & The Gita – 4
  • Anatomy. Practice: Hands-on Adjustments (2). Teaching Beginners I.

WEEKEND 7:

  • The Chakras & Alternative Anatomy SEQUENCING I
  • Teaching individual poses: Seated Poses.
  • 8 Limbs – Dharana & The Gita – 5
  • Anatomy: Abdominal. Practice: Hands-on Adjustments (3). Sanskrit.
  • Ethics 2 – Running a business

WEEKEND 8:

  • Sequencing II. Teaching Beginners II
  • 8 Limbs – Dhyana & Samadhi

WEEKEND 9:

  • Closing Rituals
