is a graduate of Body & Soul Yoga Teaching Training and is certified in AFAA Group Fitness, SCW Pilates, Barre & Zumba. She has been teaching classes at Body & Soul since 2010. She teaches her classes with her heart & loves to provide a little challenge for the body, mind, spirit. She is the Operations Manager at Fountain Park.

 

KAREN KRAMER . . .
KAREN KRAMERis a 200 hour certified yoga instructor through the Sivananda lineage and has been teaching for more than 10 years. She is particularly passionate about sharing the techniques and gifts of Hatha, Restorative, and Yin Yoga as well as the powerful transformation experienced with consistent practice of meditation, pranayama and breath awareness. She has taught chair yoga for over 8 years, conducts workshops, retreats, and presented at the inaugural Dubuque Yoga Festival 2015. She has also published a home practice CD: Gentle, Relaxing Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra.

MICHELLE WATTERS . . .
MICHELLE WATTERShas been a certified yoga instructor for six years and a licensed counselor for sixteen years. She completed her 500 hour training in 2015 as a Phoenix Rising Therapeutic Yoga  Teacher where she combines her skills and knowledge to provide a life enhancing yoga experience. Her thoughtful, theme-based classes fully engage participants in present moment awareness with invitations for self-reflection and personal learning. She connects deeply with participants and offers instruction suitable for all physical levels. She values each person’s internal experience as unique, important and sacred.

JULIA THEISEN . . .
julia_profileis co-owner of Body & Soul, founder of Body & Soul 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training & Personal Transformation and founder/producer of Dubuque Yoga & Oneness Festival. With more than three decades of experience in the healing arts and thirteen years of teaching yoga, her passion is to help others be more fully themselves and to practice yoga and exercise from a place of freedom in mind-body-spirit. She has published 4 yoga CDs.

CAROL COLLINS . . .
Carol_Collins_sq_profilehas been teaching fitness classes since 2000. She has her group exercise certification from Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), Strength and Conditioning Instructor Certification from YMCA of the USA and her personal training certification from the National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA). Other certifications include ZUMBA Fitness and Les Mills Body Pump. She has been with the Body & Soul Team since 2006.

MICHELE CHILLOOK . . .
Michele_Chillook_profileMichele first stepped onto a yoga mat in 2005. Within months, she had found a dedicated practice and began her journey of life healing through yoga. In 2009, to pursue a yearning for deeper knowledge of the yogic philosophies and in hopes of gaining greater self awareness, Michele completed yoga teacher training at Body & Soul. “The integration of stillness and openness is so important in this day of busyness and deadlines, where we are increasingly about pleasing others and sometimes wandering past our own selves. My intention as I lead classes is for us all to draw our focus inward, follow our own inner guide, and live a healthy, flourishing existence.”

KATIE PFIFFNER…

is a 200 hour certified yoga instructor. She has studied Eastern and Western spiritualities for more than 10 years and brings this experience to her classes in a gentle Hatha flow.

 

 

SUSAN  SWIFT…
began practicing Ana Forrest style yoga in 2006 and then trained intensively with Turbodog Yoga in Chicago over the next five years. Also known as an English teacher at Hempstead High School, Susan has, over the years, engaged not only her colleagues and students, but entire sports teams in the benefits of practicing yoga. In 2013 she completed Body & Soul’s Yoga Teacher Training and Personal Transformation program. Since then, she has taught all levels of yoga with Body & Soul.

ANNE FUNKE . . .
anne-yoga-headshotis a natural born teacher! She works at the University of Dubuque (Student Life team) and has been teaching yoga since April 2013 (graduate of Body & Soul Yoga Teaching Training). She started watching her father do yoga, martial arts and meditations, throughout her childhood, and began her own regular yoga practice in college. Anne absolutely loves sharing her passion and love with her classes!

JAI RAM…

As a 500-hour, Registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance, Jai Ram has brought his skills to the Dubuque community since 2007. Besides leading Yoga Philosophy Flow classes and teaching on the Bhagavad Gita at Body & Soul, he continues shaping young minds as an Associate Professor of philosophy at Divine Word College.

 

JEFF WRIGHT..

Considered by many as the father of yoga in Dubuque, the Dubuque Yoga & Oneness Festival established an annual tuition scholarship in Jeff’s name as recognition for all he means to yoga in the Dubuque community. Jeff, E-RYT 500, has had a daily yoga practice since 1972 and has been teaching both hatha yoga and meditation since 1986.

 

PAM CONNOLLY…

Pam_Connolly_sq_profileis fun and very fit! She is certified in AFAA, Yoga, and Pilates and a licensed Zumba instructor. As well as being a Senior Health and Human Performance lecturer at University of Wisconsin – Platteville she is also an AYSO summer soccer coach and Religious Ed. asst. 7th grade. In her spare time she loves racing anything from a 5k to triathalons and ultramarathon! She has been teaching at Body & Soul since 2006.

BRIDGET LEARY…

Bridget began practicing yoga in 2005 and completed her 200 hour yoga certification in 2015. She is registered with Yoga Alliance and is currently studying to become a certified personal trainer. Bridget believes each body is unique and deserves a customized practice. Her classes focus on exploring the poses and finding what works best for each student. She is an eternal student and loves learning and sharing new methods and knowledge with her students.   She teaches a wide range of yoga including Yin, Flow and HIIT Yoga.
MALIA RIDGWAY…

Malia is a familiar face to some of you as she has been practicing at Body & Soul over the last 10+ years.  For the past 15-years Malia has spent most of her time in SE Asia living in Bangkok, Singapore and Hong Kong.  Most recently, with the encouragement of the Body & Soul instructors, she has checked off an item on her bucket list—“to become a certified Pilates instructor.” Through 14-months of study and practice  Malia earned a Stott Pilates teaching certificate in April 2015 granting her the opportunity to teach Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Barrels and Stability Chair.  In June 2015, she continued her education by completing the Injuries and Special Populations course.
