SAFE & STRONG SUN SALUTATIONS with Bridget Leary. Sun Salutations are a staple of many yoga classes and are the perfect stand-alone home practice. This workshop will expand beyond the typical instruction in a 60-minute class. A “postures clinic” will break down each of the poses, give specific alignment and engagement cues, and provide modifications for a customized practice. Instruction in alternative strength-building exercises will be included to help participants safely advance in their practice. During this workshop, participants will have opportunities to apply what they are learning, ask questions and receive personalized instruction (there will be a break incorporated into the workshop). Bridget has practiced many styles of yoga. Her training is modeled after flow yoga. She is registered with the Yoga Alliance as a 200 hour certified yoga instructor and is an ACE certified personal trainer. Saturday, July 21st, 10:30-2:30pm. $40 members / $45 non-members.

RESONANCE: MIND-BODY-YOGA Exploring the intersection between vulnerability and creativity with Dr. Elaina Burns. In this workshop participants will engage in a guided discussion exploring the theme of vulnerability and the creative process. We will follow our discussion with a yoga practice designed to bring creative energy to the mind and body, followed by a closing discussion geared toward enhancing participants’ daily routines with a focus on mind-body awareness. Wednesday, July 25th – 6:30-8:00pm. LEARN THE ART AND SCIENCE OF YOGA NIDRA with Indu Arora. Yoga Nidra is an ancient practice with incredible relevance in the modern world. With an excess of tension and worries, discomforts and uneasiness, fear and phobias, our students need a vehicle to connect deeply to their true nature, to peace, health, and self-awareness. This increased self-awareness helps us to remain detached and calm amidst the chaos of our daily lives. Yoga Nidra provides a path for rediscovery of our true nature and the many benefits that can be realized from its practice. The training is open to 200-hour teachers, teacher trainees, or students with at least three years of yoga practice. Only RYT’s are eligible for 50 CEU’s from Yoga Alliance. He has been practicing, teaching, and writing about yoga for most of his life: 45 years of practice, 30 years of teaching. His most recent book is Way of Stillness . Open to all!
