The 8-week mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) program is modeled after the stress reduction clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center (UMMC), founded by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn. This is the oldest and largest hospital-based stress reduction program in the U.S. There is a great deal of clinical evidence for the effectiveness of this program in reducing stress.
